Babies look cute no matter what, but who doesn't love a sweet bow in their barely-there hair? But before you stock up on tiny accessories, are they really safe to put on your child? Keep reading for the truth to be revealed!

We love when babies are wearing an accessory that matches their outfit, or even better, their mamas! The key is being extra delicate with their fashion, and careful with what and how often you're dressing up your little one. Baby's skin and hair is extremely delicate. Plastic bands, metal combs and even velcro can cause damage and pain, none of which makes for a happy baby. Stick with soft materials that won't irritate your little cutie, or rub their fine hair before it's grown!

Anything that's too tight is uncomfortable, and most babies will let you know when they aren't feeling their best! But don't be tempted to put them in a headband that's super tight. In fact, most headbands slip off because they're too tight, not too loose. So make sure you can easily put two to three fingers beneath the band so it's not too snug.

No matter what accessory you're dressing your little one in, make sure to never leave them unattended with them on, even if it fits well and stays in place. Babies can easily pull their headband off, and possibly get it caught around their neck or twisted. Better to be safe and take it off when you need to step away!

Most babies won't leave much of anything on more than a little bit, but if your child wears adornments on a regular basis with no issues, make sure that it's not causing any indentions or putting pressure on their growing head. Since your baby's head is soft and still growing, wearing tight headbands every single day might affect their head shape.

Thank goodness, the Baby & Toddler headband bows in the Mommy & Me Collection are baby-safe! They're soft, ultra-stretchy and adjustable for the perfect fit that won't harm a single hair on baby's head. Check out this tutorial on the easiest way to adjust your baby or toddler headband!
