Fresh from the oven with MyBizzyKitchen

3 minute read

Some people are truly inspiring - especially ones that share a love affair with food as passionately as we do. Enter the delightful and delicious Velvet Martini herself, Biz Velatini of MyBizzyKitchen!

Allow us to introduce you to Biz in our first ever Lilac Spotlight.

MyBizzyKithcen
MyBizzyKitchen began as one of two long-held dreams:
The first, to take care of her family that she would do anything for, and second, to share her creativity with food. In order to do this, she had to start getting "bizzy" in her kitchen.

And thus, MyBizzyKitchen was born!

Biz started heblog as a diary for her family. Over time she filled it with personal thoughts, funny stories, and amazing recipes. As her cooking skills grew, so did her following, and Biz now feeds huge groups of food-obsessed readers through the recipes she posts on her blog. Which most recently turned into a full time business for Biz along with the help of her family.

Our personal favorite recipe is Biz's Skinny Pizza Dough, which is how we first got butterflies for Biz. After reaching out to her with an idea on a partnership, we were delighted to find her to be even more hilarious and gutsy than her writing! It was love at first bite (literally), and getting to work with her on this collection has been a dream.

These designs were made to represent the moxie that we admire in Biz herself, and we know they'll inspire you to be your best self as much as it has us.

Now for the fun part...

What you Need:
- 2 cups self-rising flour
- 1 teaspoon yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup nonfat Greek yogurt
- 1/2-3/4 cup water

Step 1

Add flour, yeast and salt to a large bowl. Mix with fork.

Step 2

Add yogurt, mix until combined.

Step 3

Add just shy of 1/2 cup water, only adding additional water to get the dough together. Depending on the time of year (i.e. humid weather, etc.) it may take less or more water.

Step 4

Once combined, cover and store in the microwave and let rise for 12 hours. It's best on day 2 and 3 and beyond and lasts in your refrigerator for up to 7 days.

You can freeze it too! I'd freeze in 10 ounce portions which is enough for one large pizza, or two individual pizzas. Just defrost the morning you want to use it in the fridge.
