You know you can't just hand the recipient their present as is without some mysterious gift wrap, right? It needs festive wrapping to resemble a proper gift! But don't worry, Lilac Market has got you covered (with a bow, of course)!
Every year, wrapping those carefully chosen gifts can be even more of a nightmare than the shopping experience itself! What will look nice? How can you make yours sit proudly under the tree? What kind of gift wrap will tell the happy receiver "I got you this, AND dressed up it up in style!"?
For 2022, these are the best and easiest ways to make your holiday presentation as unique as the present itself!
- FELT
Every craft in every classroom has, at some point, involved this amazing material. Fuzzy, pliable and very affordable, incorporating felt into everything from the tag to the decor itself. It can easily be cut into tree shapes to create a beautiful winter forest scene, glued right to the box!
2. LEATHER
Natural details are a hot trend for gift wrap this year, and leather is an easy addition that is also affordable. Use a long leather piece to tie around the box or bag, and twist or braid it off at the end to create a unique tail for your bow. The best part? It can be reused year after year!
3. MONOCHROMATIC
A color theme is this simplest way to keep gifts separated, especially by giver or receiver. And color matching is popular; just ask the readers of our Colors of the Month blogs! But it doesn't have to be so traditional. Designate a color for each member of your family and friends, and it'll be super easy to divide gifts up for everyone.
4. INKBLOT
A classy, unexpected style of gift wrapping, this style gives off an artsy vibe and works best with either bright colors or neutral shades. You could order inkblot paper online, but you can also make it yourself with an easy online tutorial!
5. FABRIC/HEADBAND BOW
Of course, what gift wrap list would be complete without a headband hack? We love to finish off a cute box or bag with it's own gift that acts as decoration: just slip the headband over the box with the knot facing out. You can tie another headband around it to make the cute bow tails, too!
6. 3D FLOWERS
Didn't you love pop-up birthday cards as a kid, where once you opened them, a magic world would bloom right before your eyes? Create that same multi-dimensional magic with hand-made 3D flowers! Cut out the pieces you need for each petal, stem and leaf. Layer on with a glue stick.
7. SPLATTER PAINT
Along the lines of inkblot paper, this can be an awesome family project to make special paper for the season! Choose a plain base color of paper, and use acrylic paints, either in a color palette or rainbow color for the splattering effect. Then simply splatter away, and allow to fully dry before using as gift wrap. Pro tip: black paper with white, gold and silver acrylic paint will really stand out this year.
